4th Post for Chapters 13-18

on page 135

  • Did they catch the native?
  • Not yet, Mr. Jarvis.
The tears filled the eyes, the teeth bit the lips. What does that matter? he said.

Why wouldn't Mr Jarvis think that it mattered that they caught the man that killed his son? Doesn't he want justice and closure?

  1. Maybe he's one of the guys that doesn't believe in revenge, or as they saying goes. "Fighting fire, with fire doesn't help put it away". Even if this man receives justice, his son is still dead and there's nothing that he could do to revive or bring him back.

  2. Well said Bala, well said. Jarvis probably doesn't believe in killing, he is just bitter about the whole deal.
